Screen kinds
Every screen is one of seven kinds, and the kind decides what it owes.
| Kind | What it is | Owes |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | Where a flow starts | – |
| Content | A list or feed that is fetched | Loading, empty, error |
| Detail | One thing, fetched | Loading, error |
| Transaction | Somebody submits something that can fail | Loading, error |
| Terminal | Where a flow ends | A way onward |
| Overlay | A sheet, dialog or menu | – |
| System | The app talking about itself | – |
PathKit picks the kind from the screen. Change it in the screen's properties when it is wrong; the checks follow.
What is on the screen adds to what the kind owes. A field means an error state, a list that can hold nothing means an empty state, anything fetched means a loading state and a way to fail.
